AKARI Festival returns for it's 2025 edition.

Building on a successful first year, the event looks to expand in size with more bands and conntected events.

THE GREY:

Topping the bill, following a hugely successful year taking in the likes of ArcTangent, Download, Cestial Diadem, collaborations with Brady from Will Haven, UK tours and a much heralded album - KODOK - The Grey return to Manchester!

A-TOTA-SO

Closing off their tour cycle for 2022's Lights Out, the collaborative Math/post-hardcore group A-Tota-So promise new material to build on their recent performances at StrangeForms, European runs and beyond.

PLEIADES

Manchester post-hardcore rising stars Pleiades return to 33 Oldham Street with songs from Affinity With and 2025 EP If Your Roots Run Deep, You Can't Fear The Wind. Known for their energetic and captivating perfomances - they promise to close their hometown schedule for the year in style.

CIVIL SERVICE

Fellow hometown heroes and Manchester's self-proclaimed 2nd best post rock band, Civil Service, return home to present their sophomore album, DARK///, performed for the first (and perhaps only) time - in full, at AKARI festival 2025. Building on 2024 debut, ///LIGHT, the band depart for Darker shores on record #2, including gripping guest appearances and sonic surprises throughout.

MILLION MOONS

London Post-rock stars Million Moons return to Manchester following a spell-binding perormance of tracks from 2024's I May Be Some Time. With a new line-up and building on formative festival appearances in China, the band look to reach new heights in 2026 - and their performance at AKARI will certainly serve as a marker to their ambition.

WILDERNESSES

London Dreamo upstarts Wildernesses have only released two singles but are already generating serious noise. Working with Manchester post-rock and metal super-producer Joe Clayton, the band are blazing a Trail on Joe's Floodlit Recordings - and are gearing up to take the scene by storm in 2026.

[SLAB]

Last in the first announcement wave, but very much not least - [slab] bring their extensive back catalogue and 2025 debut full-length - Taut - to 33 Oldham Street. Another hometown favourite, but a band well-versed in impressive shows - we look forward to welcoming their post-punk / post-hardcore fusion to the 33OS stage.

Further acts will be announced in due course - and additional non-musical events will be revealed closer to the festival date.
