ALFFA // HYLL // FFATRI JAM
(English translation follows)
"Yr Alffa Fawreddog" – Michael Sheen. Mewn cytundeb llwyr â Mr Sheen, rydyn ni’n edrych ymlaen at ddod ag Alffa i CWRW ym mis Ionawr, gyda chefnogaeth Hyll a Ffatri Jam!
Mae Alffa yn fand dau aelod a gafodd lwyddiant ar unwaith yng Nghymru a thu hwnt gyda’i sengl gyntaf a gynhyrchwyd gan Recordiau Côsh. Hyrddiwyd y sengl hon i bedwar ban y byd gan restrau chwarae roc mwyaf Spotify. ‘Gwenwyn’ oedd y gân Gymraeg gyntaf i gael ei ffrydio miliwn o weithiau ar y platfform. Ac ers hynny, mae’r band wedi cael llwyddiannau tebyg gyda’i senglau dilynol, sef ‘Pla’, ‘Full Moon Vulture’ a ‘Black Angel’ – y prif drac ar albwm cyntaf y band.
“Dydy Alffa byth yn siomi. Mae cerddoriaeth y band yn wych, mae’n fand hoffus, ac fel un sy’n malio am safon, does neb yn ei wneud yn well” – Keep Walking Music.
Mae'r band wedi syfrdanu torfeydd gyda s?n mawr sydd wedi plesio gwahanol fathau o wrandawyr yng ngwyliau Great Escape a Liverpool Sound City. Dyw Dion Jones (Gitâr) a Siôn Land (Drymiau) erioed wedi aros i ddrysau ymagor iddyn nhw. Yn hytrach, mae’r ddau wedi mynd ati i falu drysau a chreu eu llwybr eu hunain fel band.
//
Band o Gaerdydd yw Hyll sy’n enwog am ei s?n melancolaidd a’i eiriau deallus, sy’n cael eu canu ym mamiaith aelodau’r band, sef Cymraeg. Mae llais unigryw Iwan yn sôn am fagwraeth yng Nghaerdydd, gyda geiriau sy’n ffraeth a thyner yn aml. Mae s?n y band wedi cael ei ddylanwadu gan artistiaid fel Pavement, Soccer Mommy a Pixies. Dylanwad arall yw geiriau meddylgar unigolion fel Courtney Barnett, King Krule a Bill Ryder-Jones.

Dehonglwyr newydd Roc Caled Cymraeg o Ynys Môn a Chaernarfon yw Ffatri Jam, band sydd wedi cael ei glywed ar BBC Radio 1, Planet Rock a mannau eraill. Cafodd sengl y band, ‘Geiriau Ffug’, ei rhyddhau’n wreiddiol ar Ddydd Miwsig Cymru a’i darlledu ar BBC Radio 1 lle cafodd ei chydnabod fel un o Synau Gorau 2022 BBC Introducing.

ALFFA // HYLL // FFATRI JAM
"The Mighty Alffa" - Michael Sheen. In total agreement with Mr. Sheen, we’re excited to bring Alffa to CWRW in January, supported by Hyll and Ffatri Jam!
Alffa are a two-piece band so powerful that they became an instant success in Wales and beyond when their first single on Côsh Records was catapulted around the globe by Spotify’s biggest rock playlists. ‘Gwenwyn’ (Poison) was the first Welsh language song to be streamed a million times on the platform and, since then, the band have had similar successes with their follow-up singles, ‘Pla’ (Plague), ‘Full Moon Vulture’ and ‘Black Angel’, the lead track form their debut album.
“Alffa never disappoints. their music is great, their personality is lovable, and for a band who cares about quality, nobody does it better” - Keep Walking Music.
The band have stunned crowds with a massive sound that has pleased industry listeners and punters alike at Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City festivals. Dion Jones (Guitar) and Siôn Land (Drums) have never waited for opportunities to arrive, but rather elected to smash down doors and create their own path as a band.

Hyll are a Cardiff band known for their melancholic sounds and intelligent lyrics, which they sing in their native Welsh tongue. Iwan’s distinct vocals tell tales of growing up in Cardiff, with witty and often tender lyrical observations. Their sound is influenced by artists such as Pavement, Soccer Mommy and Pixies, whilst also taking inspiration from the thoughtful lyricism of Courtney Barnett, King Krule and Bill Ryder-Jones.

Ffatri Jam are emerging exponents of Welsh Hard Rock via Anglesey and Caernarfon, as heard on BBC Radio 1, Planet Rock and more. Their single ‘Geiriau Ffug’ was originally released on Welsh Music Day and was broadcast on BBC Radio 1 where it was recognized as one BBC Introducing’s Best Sounds of 2022.
