BETWEEN >1 is a contemporary dance-theatre work for three performers that examines the relationship between embodied memory and emotional inheritance. Tracing what the body retains when the mind resists confrontation, the work explores the enduring effects of conditional love and affective control. Through states of vulnerability, tension, and fragmented intimacy, the performance follows Nerve navigating cycles of desire, dependency, and fear as unresolved childhood trauma resurfaces within adult relationships. Combining physically charged movement with psychological intensity, BETWEEN >1 interrogates how survival mechanisms shape perceptions of intimacy, questioning the possibility of experiencing love beyond obedience, abandonment, and inherited patterns of attachment.
