"Rum & Records" brings together influential Black professionals from music, fashion, tech, law, and sport for an evening of discussion, reflection, and community, celebrating Black History Month through the lens of legacy, creativity, and inspiration.

Guests can enjoy a DJ set before and during intervals, with records inspired by songs discussed throughout the evening.

Speakers & Bios for programme 

Preye Crooks

Preye is the co-head of A&R at Robots & Humans Records/Sony Music UK. With a track record spanning over 10 years at Sony, he has signed and worked with notable artists such as Not3s, B Young, DigDat, Skyla Tylaa, CamrinWatsin, Kenny Allstar, DAMEDAME* and more.

In addition, Preye is the co-founder of Strawberries & Creem and The Cambridge Club Festivals, and has led these events from humble beginnings of 500 people to becoming full weekend camping festivals with crowds of over 15,000. Notably, both festivals were recently part-acquired by Sony Music Entertainment, marking Sony's first-owned festivals in Europe.

The festivals have hosted a diverse line-up of music icons and contemporary artists, including Burna Boy, Skepta, Koffee, J Hus, AJ Tracey, Diana Ross, Lionel Ritchie, and The Jacksons
