Carbon Based Lifeforms

Carbon Based Lifeforms (CBL) are Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Vadestrid based in Goteborg, Sweden.

They have released 7 official full length albums: 'Hydroponic Garden' (2003), 'World of Sleepers' (2006), 'Interloper' (2009) and 'Twenty Three' (2012), 'Derelicts' (2017), 'Stochastic' (2021) and 'Seeker' (2023).

Their music has been extraordinarily well received by connoisseurs within the ambient scene and well beyond. In a top 30 chart of the best Psybient albums of all time compiled by Rate Your Music, CBL were rated at # 1, 2, 5, 16 and 26 alongside such great artists as Sphongle, Solar Fields, Ott, AES Dana and others.

CBL aim to combine earth and space in their music, using the combination of nature and technology as the main inspiration for their work.

They have played all over Europe and the US including many festival appearances such as Symbiosis (US), Anthropos (UK) and Ozora (Hungry) and in April 2025 played an incredible sold out show at London Earth Theatre.

CBL are currently working on material for their next album and will be trying out some new ideas in their live shows. If they are half as good as the small sneak preview we heard in April then this is very much something to look forward to.

This will be the first time that CBL have played in Leeds.

BUNKR - maximal melodic electronics from the outer orbit 

Drawing inspiration from a love of electronica, ambient, melodic techno and the mysteries of the cosmos Brighton (UK) based musician/producer James Dean set about channeling these influences into his work under his BUNKR alias and, since BUNKR's inception in 2017, he has been treading an exploratory path deftly cultivating a unique voice in electronic music. 

With the new BUNKR album Signals dropping April 24th on the VLSI label, he'll be playing a set of fresh material adapted especially for his live show incorporating ambient, electronica and widescreen techno accompanied by the outerstellar visual wizardry of Magictorch.

DJ Paulina Carbon Based Lifeforms Tour DJ will be opening the evenings proceedings.
