Cottingham Comedy Club presents Paul Tonkinson

Following our recent sold out shows, we're delighted to announce our June headliner, first time at CCC for Paul Tonkinson. 
A usual we will have an array of great supporting acts and Dough Punks are back again for their regular slice of the action, serving up tasty pizzas from 6:30pm before the show starts at 8pm. 

A sensational live performer, Yorkshire man, marathon runner and former (double award-winning) Time Out Comedian of the Year, Paul Tonkinson has long upheld his esteemed reputation as one of the finest stand-ups the UK has to offer. With a unique and distinctive style, Tonkinson is noted for his effervescent physicality and skilful impressions, which bring alive exuberant, tender comic reflections on love, family and the day-to-day idiosyncrasies of 21st century life. A plethora of first class material, combined with tremendous charm and irrepressible, infectious energy make for a formidable talent.
Tonkinson burst into the nations consciousness as a presenter hosting seminal live tele - The Sunday Show on BBC2,  Ch. 4’s The Big Breakfast, he also fronted radio shows on XFM in London and Manchester.
His first love however has always been stand-up with numerous TV appearances - BBC One’s Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow and Comedy Central’s The Comedy Store and The World Stands-up. He has played at comedy festivals around the world including the prestigious Montreal Just For Laughs festival, hosting the esteemed Brit-com Gala. As well as his own UK tour Tonkinson has also worked extensively with Michael McIntyre, supporting him on arena tours across the UK and worldwide, most recently, in 2023, on trips to Norway, New Zealand and Australia.  
Paul is a keen runner, he produces a weekly podcast Running Commentary with Rob Deering ( over 2 million downloads ) wrote a long running column for Runners World and his book 26.2 Miles to Happiness won a Daily Telegraph Sports Entertainment Book of the Year award in 2022. He is currently working on the follow up.

Plus three support acts (details to be confirmed) and all held together by your regular hosts Fresh Prince Of Hull Fair Jed Salisbury and Stone Cold Rich Austin. 

Doors open 6:30pm for the pizzas, show starts at 8pm (or whenever we can be bothered). 
We've sold out the last few months so please make sure you're booking/reserving in advance. If you're coming in groups of four or more it's helpful if you can book together or let us know your total group size so that we can allocate seating.
Cottingham Comedy Club, winner of Yorkshire's Best Independent Comedy Club 2023 and 2024 and the village’s only comedy venue, provides an unique comedy experience in many ways. This intimate club gets you up close and personal with the acts, many of whom are breaking through into TV, or are established acts from the UK and international comedy circuit. The Back Room is a welcoming venue and we have a dedicated room for the comedy, with regular breaks between the acts for you to lubricate your throats with laughter juice. With four acts and a compere it’s great value for money at less than £2.50 per comedian. We think it’s the most fun you can have with friends on a midweek night out.
