More information about Cowtown, Steatopygous and more tickets
COWTOWN play dynamic, over-stimulated indie rock - you can expect the keyboardist to pick the guitar player up and parade around with him in her arms, or the drummer to go so fast, sturdy and wide-eyed that the hills all have eyes, or the songs to burst out with synth-bass throbbing and guitar chisels, all of that is possible. From Leeds, Cowtown have been going for donkeys and remain one of the funnest bands to dance to so take your shoes off and get ready for Cowtown to invade the Fulfordgate club.
STEATOPYGOUS are Poppy, Eliza, Ewan and Rufus, teenagers playing high-energy punk with a rather 90s riot grrrl feel, they say they are 'the most agressive birds in the animal kingdom' and they are from Trowbridge, Wiltshire so that may even be true! Raging expressions of angered feminist teenage anguish, Steatopygous's songs are heavy with anguished and often highly intense vocals: expect to wish for salvation when they hit their stride.
CHAFFINCH are a four piece group from York playing semi-improvised, discordant songs with loud-soft dynamic stuff: elements of Teenage Jesus and the Jerks and no-wave stuff like that, plus grunge-y riffage and melodic vocals, this is something like their fifth gig and you should expectorate.
Fulfordgate Social Club offers a friendly and welcoming environment. The gig room has two toilet cubicles which can be used by anyone who needs them. We request that anyone who feels able to do so uses the men's toilets which are accessible by going through the bar.
