Daniel The Gardener: Beyond Botanical

Join us at Chelsea Physic Garden, London’s oldest botanical garden, for a special evening celebrating the launch of Beyond Botanical: A Guide to Drawing Plants in Nature by Daniel the Gardener.

Rather than a traditional book launch, this is an immersive drawing experience. On arrival, you will receive your copy of Beyond Botanical, which includes space to draw and journal. You are invited to explore the Garden at your own pace, begin sketching, and meet Daniel, who will be present throughout the evening.

Guests will then gather for a guided drawing session led by Daniel, featuring selected exercises from the book, including a site-specific exercise developed through his work at Chelsea Physic Garden. 

The session will be accompanied by live acoustic music from Diana Vela and will conclude with a short guided immersion, inviting closer attention to the plants around you.

All materials are provided. As the event takes place outdoors, please bring a blanket and dress comfortably.

Watercolours from the book will be on display, and there will be an opportunity to add a personal mark to your copy.

Each ticket includes one copy of Beyond Botanical. A separate ticket option is available for those who already own the book. Places are limited.

Everyone is welcome. No prior drawing experience is required, and the book is designed to be accessible to a wide range of ages and abilities.
