Festival Cumplicidades - Eira

This public presentation of the Jornadas 45+ concludes a process that began in 2023, with several moments of reflection and artistic experimentation with dance professionals, and which aimed at a model that favors the encounter between peers. The 45+ Conferences aspire to a more horizontal and non-hierarchical dynamic, with this sharing with the public being a gathering of different investigations and results.
They are part of the ongoing program Dança sem Idade, coordinated by Francisco Camacho and Diego Lasio, which EIRA promotes as part of a protocol with the University of Cagliari – Department of Pedagogy, Psychology and Philosophy. The objective is to respond to the need for platforms that encourage the reception and activity of senior professionals, taking into account their specificity, the acquisition and sharing of knowledge, with the renewed application of tools acquired throughout careers lived in contemporary dance.
We want to counter the reduced visibility of these professionals and contribute to the deconstruction of pre-established and unquestioned ideas about the age at which one can dance. Bringing this issue to the center of attention allows us to take a broader look at the body and the individual in society, challenging exclusionary parameters that affect so many segments of the population.
