CHALK // BRIGHTON

Galliano was in its inception, about sampling and using as foundational material, specific music put together from a sensibility and curation. This came from a set of clubs , radio shows bands and scenes coming out of the 1980s. To that extent 'nothing has changed' . The band stopped in 1997 and a double album release , 'Halfway Somewhere' was a returnto gigs and recording in August 2024, albeit 30 years later ...

Galliano, released 'Unreliable Memories of Contested Conversations ' on 30th January 2026 , and are currently in the middle of a tour supporting The Brand New Heavies in the UK . A New Album and UK /European tours are being planned for Autumn 2026 as they re assert themselves in the middle of the Boogie Funk Jazz axis.

Pete Josef - You might know Pete Josef for his album Colour - a soulful, effervescent journey through emotion championed by Gilles Peterson. Before that though, Josef was best known for his collaborations with Roni Size, and also with Darren Emerson (Underworld) in the lo-fi house duo The White Lamp. In the decade since, he has collaborated and featured with countless other proponents of dance music of all flavours - Jazzanova, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Helsloot, Matt Zo, mOat and Feiertag to name a few. This Pete Josef solo show brings the features, collabs and remixes to the dance floor. Expect his trademark soulful vocal and keys with added samples, loops and baselines designed for the most discerning House music fans.
