West country based, Gaz Brookfield, is predominantly a solo acoustic musician. Although, on occasion you will find him on stage with his band, The Company of Thieves. Since winning Acoustic Magazine’s Singer/songwriter of the year way back in 2010 he has spent the last 15 years on the road, building a strong and loyal following all over the UK, and beyond. He was the first independent musician to sell out Bristol’s, The Fleece, (450 cap), and The Bierkeller, (750 cap) and more recently, SWX, (1000 cap). With nine studio albums under his belt, the latest of which, “Morning Walking Club”, hitting #1 in the Official UK Folk Album Charts, and even top 40 in the main Official Album Charts. Not a bad result for this fiercely independent musician , with no record label, no manager, no agent - just a guitar, a van, and a steadfastly belligerent refusal to give in. Viral sensation Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq. has been delivering his own brand of singalong, musical humour since 2016, and the video for his sweary anthem ‘I’ve No More F***s To Give’ has been viewed over 18 million times on YouTube alone. His debut album ‘Awkward Encounters While Walking My Dog’ hit number 3 in the Billboard International Comedy Album Chart in 2019. In 2024, after receiving a copyright strike on YouTube for playing a Brian Adams cover, he embarked on a mission to write an original song a week for as long as he could keep it up. This ongoing project has so far yielded numerous other viral classics, including ‘It Would Be Lovely To See You Again’ and ‘My Brain Won’t Shut The F**k Up’ which has been viewed over 15 million times across social media features on his new album; ‘Carry On While The World Burns.’ Thomas takes inspiration from the wit and wisdom of the songwriters of the early-mid 20th century and combines them with punk rock sensibilities to create pithy songs full of catchy tunes and social and political commentary that speak volumes about the times we live in.
Jangly-guitar rock and a biting sense of humour meet in the storytelling songs of Chris Tavener. A theatrical musician with an acerbic wit, Tavener writes his lyrics from the perspective of flawed characters that he draws from 21st century life.
His cynical social commentary, dressed in punchy guitar-driven rock and acoustic ballads has won him acclaim from BBC 6 Music and multiple BBC Introducing stations. He’s popular for his unique and theatrical live performance that has seen him sharing the stage with Super Hans, Tony Hadley and Peter Hook while also writing songs for the likes of Sir Ian McKellen.
