Who is Akira?

Akira is a London-based DJ, curator and founder of Buntai, a collective established in 2021 that has rapidly carved out its place within the UK dance scene. Rooted in dubstep and bass-heavy club sounds, Akira's high-impact, genre-blurring sets reflect the darker, uncompromising energy that defines Buntai's identity.
Since its inception, Buntai has delivered standout takeovers at Fabric London, Boomtown and Outlook Festival, building a reputation for immersive, forward-facing programming that bridges sound, visuals and underground culture. Together, Akira and Buntai represent a new wave of UK club music - raw, refined and built for heavy systems.
