Harry Klaus (The Black Lagoons, Vehicle, Eugene Gorgeous, James Shakeshaft & The Groupe) is a multi-instrumentalist artist combining disorder with pop sensibilities to create an authentic, dark, outsider folk sound - ranging from simplistic electro-baroque songs to expansive country ballads.

Harry Klaus' self-titled debut album is an elusive and evocative collection of songs experimenting with sounds related to Folk, Country and Baroque Pop with Outsider Art tendencies.

Carefully considered compositions and instrumentation are combined with an unconventional, free-flowing attitude to performance. As a result there are moments of serenity amongst moments of disorder, complimenting lyrical themes that weave in between fiction and reality. Klaus uses tools such as trance-like repetition, minimalism and tuneful melody, to welcome listeners into an infectious and surreal world of music.

The album was recorded in May 2024 at Carte Blanche Studio, Glasgow and crafted with the help of Robbie Houston (Sweaty Palms, Boab) and Jack Patterson (Perspex, Eugene Gorgeous) on guitars and Ross Wood on bass, with Klaus filling the gaps and layering on multiple instruments.

Engineered by Robbie Houston, mixed and mastered by Patrick Clowes.

Out 22nd May on Esco Romanesco Records.
