I Will Be Queen

I Will Be Queen is a dark fantasy that uses magical realism to stage an intimate psychological confrontation between a young Elizabeth Tudor and an ancient Creature in the forest near Hatfield House, on the day she is unknowingly about to be named Queen of England.
The forest is not an escape from history but a threshold where it seeps through bark, breath, and shadow. Here, Elizabeth encounters a Creature that feels less like a monster than a force; it is old as succession, fluent in hunger, patient with time. It does not attack her. It studies her. It speaks her name as though it has been waiting centuries to do so. Their exchange unfolds as a slow, dangerous dance: verbal, physical, intimate. A negotiation conducted through proximity, language, and temptation.
