More information about La Perla tickets

La Perla is a percussion and vocal trio from Bogotá, inspired by the traditional sounds of Colombia's Caribbean coast and influenced by a range of rhythms including Dominican merengue, champeta, punk, hip- hop, and beatboxing.

Formed in 2014, the group is made up of Karen Forero, Roberta Leono (Giovanna Mogollón), and Diana Sanmiguel. In September 2022, La Perla released Callejera, their debut full-length album. Featuring 12 tracks, the record reflects the band's artistic journey and diverse musical experiences. It was released on the independent label Mambo Negro Records, led by producer Daniel Michel. Callejera brings together rhythms that resonate across Latin America, creating a vibrant dialogue between chalupa and samba, merengue and punk, chicha, slowed-down cumbia, guaguancó, and rap.

La Perla has also collaborated with renowned artists such as Frente Cumbiero, Briela Ojeda, Delfina Dib, La Dame Blanche, Instituto Mexicano del Sonido (IMS), Son Rompe Pera, Nubya Garcia, Baja Frequencia, Krakin Dub, and Pulcinella.

The street sounds of the Colombia’s Caribbean meets merengue, champeta, punk, and hip-hop with precise percussion and inventive vocals.

Formed in 2014, the trio quickly made their mark, winning Best Emerging Group at Sucre’s Festival de Gaitas de Ovejas in 2015.

Over the past decade, they’ve toured the globe, collaborating with the likes of Frente CumbieroLa Dame Blanche, and Nubya Garcia along the way.

On stage, La Perla are compelling and immersive: intricate vocal lines, ancestral drums, and an energy that honours tradition whilst pushing it forward.
