LIFE are an alternative four-piece from Hull, proudly independent and driven by a DIY ethos rooted in community. Known for intense, intimate live shows, they've built a loyal following across the UK and Europe.
Their fourth album, ABSTRACT / NATURAL, is a bold step forward, it fuses folklore, myth and landscape into universal themes of escapism and journey - experimental and story-rich, yet charged with LIFE's unmistakable dynamism.
The band have released three previous acclaimed albums - Popular Music (2017), A Picture of Good Health (2019), and North East Coastal Town (2022) - and are firm favourites at BBC 6 Music, with multiple A-list singles and support from Steve Lamacq, Lauren Laverne, Chris Hawkins, Huw Stephens and Jack Saunders.
LIFE have toured extensively across the UK and Europe as well as showcases in the US. The band have also supported their friends IDLES and Nadine Shah on tours and have played key slots at festivals such as Glastonbury, All Points East, Krankenhaus, Reading & Leeds, Latitude, Pukkelpop, Best Kept Secret, Paleo Festival, SXSW and Reeperbahn.

LIFE play at the Scala as part of their EU tour celebrating the release of their 3rd LP - North East Coastal Town.
LIFE are anchored by their hometown; the geography, history and community has always been the inspiration behind their creativity and on their new record the band pay homage to their hometown of Hull in the north of England. North East Coastal Town finds the band at the height of their powers as they carve-up a wide-screen, brooding body of work that is drenched in a sense of belonging and reflection but still impressively maintains their trademark swagger and ear for pop sensibilities and guitar hooks.
“This band are flexing their creativity for sure, This is LIFE we are talking about, they’ll always have something to say, something to stand for, a band to get lost in for sure” Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1
