LUIZGA is Luiz Gabriel Lopes, a Brazilian artist raised in the countryside of Minas Gerais and with roots spread across many territories. He grew up listening to the songs created by his family, which are still his greatest source of inspiration. His music, heir to the richest mpb lineage, also mixes influences from pop, folk and world music.

Currently alternating between Portugal and Brazil, since 2010 he has been traveling the world with his guitar on his back, playing all over Brazil and also in Latin America, Europe, the United States and Asia. On these trips, solo and with his groups, he has performed on important stages such as FMM Sines in Portugal (2011 and 2016), the Roskilde Festival in Denmark (2016), Summerstage and the Cup of Cultures in Germany (2014), the Bali Spirit Festival in Indonesia (2019), the Festa do Avante in Portugal (2022), among countless events in his home country. On this journey, he has shared stages and recordings with names as diverse as Xangai, Samuel Rosa, Marina Sena, Ceumar, Chico César and Vitor Ramil.

As a solo artist, he has released “Passando Portas” (2010), “O Fazedor de Rios” (2015), “MANA” (2017), “Presente” (2020), “SÓIS” (2021). During his career, he has also released and co-produced more than 10 albums with his various groups: LUIZGA founded, voiced and wrote songs for bands such as Graveola, TiãoDuá, and Rosa Neon. In 2023, he released the album “O Destino do Clã”, in partnership with Brazilian artists Nanan and Gustavito, and the album “AIÊ”, in partnership with Portuguese artist Edgar Valente. In 2025, he releases “YEMAMAYA”, an album crafted in partnership with french producer iZem, that comes out in vinyl through french label Elis Records.

His vast repertoire as a composer includes songs such as “Lembrete”, which has several re-recordings, “Criança Boa”, which is part of the soundtrack for the Netflix series “Você Não Me Conhece”, or the song “Minha Irmã”, which has more than 40,000 videos on TikTok and more than 2 million plays on Spotify. “Yemamaya”, his most recent hit, got a remix by David Walters and was recently included in the summer compilation by the famous French DJ GUTS.

As a music producer, he has produced albums for artists such as Luiza Brina, Laura Catarina and Flávio Tris. He also works with KAYATIBU, a Huni Kuin indigenous spiritual rock band from the Amazon Rainforest, Brazil, with whom he has toured Europe and in 2025 will release the album “NI HUI”, recorded and produced by Luiz at the group's headquarters in the municipality of Jordão, Acre.

On stage, LUIZGA presents his musical metamorphoses. An alchemy that unfolds in the artist's voice and guitar, from where sambas, ijexás, xotes and maracatus spring forth, whether in his own themes or in reinterpretations of the songs of his clan partners. Clã, in fact, is a word that describes well the place where his music comes from: a vibrant and affective work, a testimony and a cartography of life itself.
