Luke Haines is a musician, songwriter, author and artist, best known for his work as a solo artist alongside his bands The Auteurs, Baader Meinhof and Black Box Recorder - the latter of whom have amassed over 2 million followers and more than 200 million streams on Spotify. Emerging from the late 1980s with The Servants, Haines established a distinctive voice in the 1990s, combining sharp, literate songwriting with wry humour and an often subversive take on British culture. Since embarking on a solo career at the turn of the millennium, Haines has continued to release a steady stream of inventive and critically regarded records. His recent work includes three albums with R.E.M's Peter Buck and members of The Minus 5.
