More information about Marla Kether + Support tickets

Born in London to Congolese parents, Marla Kether is a bassist, producer, and DJ. With over 35 million Spotify streams, she has worked with Little Simz, Yazmin Lacey, Oscar Jerome, and Obongjayar. Her debut EP ‘All That We Have’ dropped in November, praised by Crack Magazine, Mary Anne Hobbs, Jamz Supernova, and more. Her music blends Latin percussion, Theo Parrish-style groove, and West African-inspired basslines. Bandcamp Daily called her EP ‘The Best Electronic Music of November 2023,’ and DJ Mag named ‘BTR2’ a Top Track of 2023.

Marla celebrated with live shows in Bristol and London and toured with Loyle Carner as a bassist and DJ. This year, she played Jazz Stroud and supported BCUC at The Jazz Cafe, with bookings at Shambala and Valley Festival. Released through Saffron Records, Marla is part of a movement uplifting women, trans, and non-binary artists.

“Marla Kether has to be one of the most exciting talents to emerge this year. She’s already well established as a successful session bassist, but her own productions are a revelation, joining house, disco, post-punk, and heavy doses of Afro-Brazilian groove into something completely her own.” - Joe Muggs, Bandcamp Daily
