Sunday 25th May Salt and Tar Fringe Festival Presents Mick Miller, Nina Gilligan, Iganacio Lopez with Host Brendan Riley Join us for an unforgettable night of live comedy under canvas with a triple headline show featuring stars from TV and the cream of the comedy circuit up close and personal in our luxury fully seated marquee at Salt and Tar, Bootle's exciting new event space canalside. Mick Miller One of our most treasured entertainers who has been at the top of his game for over 40 years. Often referred to as "The bald guy with the long hair," Mick first came to prominence in the 70’s on the iconic ITV show ‘The Comedians’ but remains as relevant and funny today, he is one of the few comedians of his generation who has made the transition onto the alternative circuit, creating a younger fan base along the way. This will be a masterclass in stand-up comedy not to be missed. As seen in Kings of Comedy (Ch4), They Think It’s All Over (BBC1), Comedy World Cup (Ch4), John Bishop’s Only Joking (Sky1), Comedy Rocks with Jason Manford (ITV), Last Laugh in Vegas (ITV), and The Royal Variety Performance (ITV), Ideal with Jonny Vegas (BBC Three), Peter Kay’s Carshare (BBC1) (Photo credit of Mick Miller Andy Holingworth Archive) Nina Gilligan Described as a bolshier Mrs Merton, multi award winning Nina Gilligan is sometimes outrageous, always hilarious with a charming, loveable persona which belies an acerbic wit. ‘A Gem of the Circuit’ with an ability to ‘Transcend age barriers effortlessly’ she continues to rise through the comedy ranks. Winner Best Act, Chortle Awards and the North West Comedy Awards in 2023. Winner of the Leicester Mercury Award 2021, Winner Liverpool Hot Water Comedian of the Year, Finalist English Comedian of the Year 2016. “Phenomenal Performer” – Rolling Stone Ignacio Lopez has been wowing audiences internationally with his individual style and high gag-rate. A crazy mixture of Welsh & Spanish, Ignacio has become one of the most unique voices on the UK circuit. Now a regular on British TV, Ignacio’s extensive broadcast credits include Live at the Apollo (BBC Two), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), QI (BBC Two), Comedy Central Live (Comedy Central), The Apprentice: You’re Fired (BBC Two), The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice (Ch4), Pointless Celebrities (BBC One) His online content has racked up over 100 million views across all social media channels and he has been featured in Top Jokes lists in The Telegraph and The Guardian. His last tour sold out venues all over the UK with numerous extra dates added due to phenomenal demand. With Host Brendan Riley There's nothing bland or predictable about this stand-up comic. Brendan's Liverpudlian accent and lively blend of anecdotes, gags and inspired improvisation brings a refreshing blast of cheerful North Western humour. “One of the brighter names from the North West…a great compere.” Guardian
