MOMO. is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist influenced by a lifetime of living in Brazil, Angola, the US, Spain, Portugal, and currently the UK. With seven albums to his name, his work has been internationally acclaimed. His latest record, Gira, was recently named in Mojo’s Top 10 World Music Albums of the Year and in Songlines’s Top of the World listing.

His 2006 debut album, A Estética do Rabisco, was hailed as a cornerstone of modern Brazilian psychedelia, influenced by legends like Os Mutantes and the Tropicália movement. Over six subsequent records, MOMO. refined his ability to evoke both nostalgia and novelty, a quality that’s caught the ear of icons like David Byrne and Patti Smith. His participation on the 70th birthday album for Caetano Veloso, A Tribute to Caetano, further cemented his place in Brazil’s rich musical lineage.

Now, with Gira—his seventh album released in October 2024—MOMO. takes his artistry to new heights. Featuring London’s vibrant jazz talent, Gira marries Brazilian rhythms with the city’s electric creative pulse.

On stage, MOMO. brings a celebration of light, joy, and connection with playful rhythms, intricate melodies, and his signature soft vocals.
