Mushroom Masterclass at Chelsea Physic Garden
Join us for a special seasonal workshop at Chelsea Physic Garden and discover the fascinating world of mushroom cultivation. Whether you're completely new to fungi or already a keen grower, this practical session is designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to grow your own edible and medicinal mushrooms at home.
Led by the award-winning Caley Brothers—renowned for their accessible approach to mushroom growing—this masterclass explores three low-cost, beginner-friendly methods:
• Indoor growing on used coffee grounds
• Outdoor log inoculation
• Growing button mushrooms in trays or containers
In addition to live demonstrations, the workshop includes a comprehensive introduction to fungi, covering key concepts in mushroom biology and cultivation. The session concludes with an open Q&A, giving you the chance to ask questions and get tailored advice.
Your ticket also includes entry to Chelsea Physic Garden—London’s oldest botanical garden—where you can explore the beauty of the Garden in its full autumnal glory.

Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult and must remain under close supervision as there is deep water and numerous poisonous plants.
Registered support dogs are welcome in the Garden, no other pets are allowed.
Unfortunately we cannot look after your luggage and we don't have any cloakroom facilities at the Garden.
There are a couple of council bike racks on Royal Hospital Road, unfortunately we do not have racks in the Garden due to lack of space and we can't look after your bicycle for you.
