MIM 110: 21st July - From Studio to Screen: Get Synced, Get Paid + Open Mic Mark Garfield is a drummer, producer, songwriter, and co-founder/co-director of Pop-Up Music, a UK-based music publisher and sync agency. Over the course of his career, Mark has worked with legendary artists including Glen Matlock (Sex Pistols), Dr. Fink (Prince), Eddie Kramer (producer for Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin), Pete Brown (Cream), Mo Foster (Jeff Beck, Phil Collins), Clem Burke (Blondie), Neal X (Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Marc Almond), Grace in Danger, and Hotei (Kill Bill OST). His compositions and syncs have appeared in major productions such as Netflix’s Insatiable, Moon Knight, Wednesday, and even meditation music featured on British Airways’ inflight entertainment system. Through Pop-Up Music, Mark has secured sync placements in high-profile productions including Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Stranger Things, Fallout, Pam & Tommy, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and Rivals. Based in London, working out of both his home and RAK Studios, he continues to co-run the company, supporting the sync industry with quality music and expert publishing services. Mark is also a frequent speaker and panellist at major global music industry events.
