Pye Corner Audio

Pye Corner Audio is a British electronic music project by Martin Jenkins. He deals in an eerie, fragile strain of electronic music mixing the Radiophonic/library music sound, sometimes with a post-punk influence that aligns him firmly with such seasoned hauntologists as Mordant Music, Belbury Poly and The Advisory Circle.

Jenkins refers to himself as the mysterious and nameless Head Technician in most of his online profiles. A master of blending nostalgia with forward-thinking production he has carved out a unique niche in the electronic music landscape.

PCA first came to attention with 4 volumes of Black Mill Tapes on his own label, Pye Corner Audio Transcription Services. Like his contemporaries Demdike Stare and Ghost Box, Martin seemed to be tapping into some hidden energy current, channelling spirits via electrical means.

Drawing inspiration from 1970’s and 80’s synthesizer music, and cinematic soundtracks, his work often evokes a sense of eerie futurism. The albums Entangled Routes (Ghost Box 2021), Let’s Emerge! (Sonic Cathedral 2022) and The Endless Echo (Ghost Box 2024) have continued and developed this tradition.

From northern shires Shunt Voltage manufacture electronic beats where once industrial giants manufactured goods for the World.

Their tracks are a combination of grooves, effects and samples jammed together against a backdrop of acid infused beats.

Shunt Voltage mix their tracks live on the fly resulting in something unique every time they play.

The duo have played a sold out show at The Social W1 (London), supported Curses and played the famous Golden Lion. They have supported Banco de Gaia and played The Rising and Beatherder Festivals.

They have released on Heavenly Records, Paisley Dark and Tici Taci and amongst others being remixed by The Sons of Slough, Duncan Gray, Adult DVD and have recently completed a remix for a Children of the Bong project.
