Few artists reshaped music like Miles Davis did and few bands reinterpret his genius with the finesse, depth and sheer cool of Re-Bop. Led by pianist, bandleader and storyteller Chris Ingham, this blistering sextet arrives at Boisdale for the first time, armed with decades of jazz legacy and a sound that swings with purpose.

Focusing on Davis's prolific 1950s era, they dive deep into the sonic alchemy that birthed albums like MilestonesWorkin’, and Kind of Blue. This was the decade where Miles sculpted modern jazz pushing beyond bebop into modal magic, cultivating a sound both timeless and endlessly fresh.

Chris Ingham, a mainstay of the UK jazz scene, has helmed sold-out shows at Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Café and London Jazz Festival. His arrangements draw from Davis’s first great quintet and sextet, bringing sharp phrasing, lush harmonies and spontaneous energy to every note. Expect the blistering heat of 'Round About Midnight, the cinematic sweep of Miles Ahead and the hypnotic cool of So What.

Lauded by Jazzwise for their “passion and style” and celebrated across the country for their “exceptional alliance of art and entertainment” (Manchester Jazz Festival), Re-Bop has become a must-see for jazz lovers seeking a bold and brilliant take on the Miles Davis songbook.

Boisdale’s stage is set. Re-Bop is ready. Time to press play on one of the greatest chapters in jazz.
