Red Herring Comedy Club

The Red Herring comedy club returns with its first show of 2026, featuring Angelos Epitemiou, Kathryn Mather, Rod Woodward and MC Matt Stellingwerf.

ANGELOS EPITHEMIOU
Unwitting star of Shooting Stars (BBC2), Dave's One Night Stand and Channel 4's The Angelos Epithemiou Show is cult favourite Angelos Epithemiou.
Think Little Britain meets Vic and Bob meets a smattering of Ivan Brackenbury and then lower your expectations and get on board. 
Angelos Epithemiou is the creation of critically acclaimed performer, Dan Renton Skinner, who has starred in such blockbuster films as The Spy Who Dumped Me, High Rise, and Swallows and Amazons for BBC Films and such TV serial-classics as The Tracy Ullman Show, Friday Night Dinner, and The Wrong Mans.
On 1 December 2019, Epithemiou appeared on Channel 4's Sunday Brunch but only for the start of the show when guests are introduced followed by the first cooking item which he interrupted part-way through by walking into shot to announce that he was leaving!

KATHRYN MATHER

ROD WOODWARD
Award-winning comedian Rod Woodward has come a long way since his stand-up career began as a studio audience warm-up man for ITV Wales.
A real career highlight; being invited to appear at the London Palladium before William and Kate, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, on the Royal Variety Performance in 2014. His barnstorming performance led to a successful debut tour and a return to the iconic theatre for an appearance on ITV's hit show Tonight At The London Palladium where he once again brought the house down. 
He completed a hat-trick on the greatest stage on earth when he joined the very elite group of entertainers who have been invited back to the Royal Variety Performance, once again raising the Palladium roof in the presence of Harry and Meghan. Soon after they retired from public duties - not that he's taking any credit for that!
His career continues to go from strength to strength with successful tour dates and TV appearances; and even a foray into the movie industry with several of his full length feature scripts now in production.

MC MATT STELLINGWERF
Matt Stellingwerf is a fast rising star on the international comedy scene, and highly regarded by his peers. Matt has won four NZ Comedy Guild Awards, been nominated for several others, and was nominated as Best Newcomer at the 2014 NZ International Comedy Festival.
Matt was a 2015 & 2016 nominee for the prestigious Billy T Award. A renowned MC and compere, Matt is a 3-time nominee for Best MC in New Zealand.
Hamilton-born and Wanganui-raised farmer's son and trained criminologist, an award-winning bar fly...and genuinely lovely guy, Matt Stellingwerf is a man of contradictions.
He expertly brings these contradictions to the stage with his typical low-key style and confidence, finding the humour in topics as diverse as love, mental illness, sex, drugs, and this crazy interview he once conducted with a serial killer on Death Row!
Matt now brings a worldview inspired by alcoholic shearing gangs, bizarre Dutch relatives, and criminological theory to the stage and attempts to answer some of life's enduring mysteries. So come along, grab a brew and have a laugh!
He has toured extensively, performing throughout NZ, Australia, the USA & the United Kingdom.
