Relaxed event: Medieval Dungeons & Dragons

This relaxed event is aimed at neurodiverse young people aged 11-18 years and their parents and carers.

You’ll get the opportunity to explore our Medieval Women: In Their Own Words exhibition with a Dungeons & Dragons twist. This promises to be an exciting evening where the rich stories of medieval women from history and adventure come together! The event is flexible with lots of different ways to join in and is particularly suitable for those with extra sensory needs.   

Enjoy activities including:

• Character creation
• Shadow puppet making
• Playing a custom-crafted, library-themed Dungeons & Dragons campaign (available only with special ticket option*)

Please note:

• This free event is aimed at neurodiverse young people aged 11+ and their parents or carers
• *The Dungeons & Dragons campaign has limited spaces and will take the full length of the event to play. If you would like to take part in the D&D campaign, please select the ‘Admission with D&D game’ option when you book. If you are coming to support a young person but aren't planning to play, please choose general admission only ticket
• Playing a custom-crafted, library-themed Dungeons & Dragons campaign (available only with special ticket option*)
• All tickets need to be pre-booked for everyone in your party. Spaces are limited, so book soon to avoid disappointment
• All visitors to this special opening will receive a visual story in advance via email to provide information on what to expect at the event
• The rest of the Library will be open to the general public but there will also be a dedicated quiet room for those needing a calmer space
