Ringlets are bringing their razor-sharp post-punk from New Zealand to Europe for the first time. Accompanied by Bristol'sl art-rock four piece Bludud, the pair take to the stage of Roseberry Road Studios for a very special 'warm-up' performance for this year's Bath Fringe Festival.
Fresh off a run of packed festival shows and a new album The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies) out this June via Flying Nun Records, Ringlets are fast becoming one of Aotearoa's most exciting exports. Press love from Rolling Stone, Brooklyn Vegan, and Post-Punk.com - plus #1 on the NZ Alternative Charts.
The band emerged from the humid, slow-traffic swamps of Auckland, NZ. They write songs for the sport; live shows have been likened to watching the 400m hurdles. The hurdles are positioned and weighted so that they fall forward if bumped into with sufficient force, to prevent injury to the band members.
South-west 4-piece Bludud make songs in a shed. Drawing on the art rock of Radiohead, the Chicago post-rock scene & the DIY spirit of Copenhagen's guitar driven alt-indie sound, their songs are shaped by whichever instruments the fluid quartet picked up that day. Bludud's sound is (probably) folk-rock - underpinned by the electric guitar, linear drumming, half-spoken, half-sung lyrics - though sometimes there are flutes, bowed bass and violins. They have been playing tunes from their forthcoming debut record (recorded at Humm Studios, January 2026) around Bristol for much of 2025
