Erstwhile Fringe favourite and sometime local resident Rob Deering returns to Edinburgh with his new show Time Machine. One of the most in-demand headliners on the UK circuit, twenty-first-century one-man-band Deering creates ‘a highly impressive one-man soundscape powered mainly by energy and excellent guitar skills’ (The Scotsman). In Time Machine, he sets his sights on the future - and it looks bright! Wait - that might be the past… anyway, expect huge tunes and repetitive beats, youth-relevant thrills and old-man moans, hot takes and cold reality, extreme physical prowess and a prostate fit for a king, the teen angst of a chubby goth and the tiresome, comfy happiness of a man in middle age. Future, past - either way it’ll be a blast.

Monkey Barrel Comedy has been ‘Scotland’s Best Comedy Venue’ since 2020 (Chortle Awards) and was described by The List as “a year-round Edinburgh institution”. It has over 500 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor, making it one of the city’s top-rated year-round attractions.

Our adjoining bar, Barrel Bar, is open from 3pm on Fridays and Saturdays and at least 1 hour before every show every other day. It serves a wide selection of drinks, including locally-sourced beers, cocktails, and spirits.
