Shared Frequencies is a brand-new all-day event coming to Birmingham on Sunday, 21st June, brought to you by Uncover and Rock of Ages.
Taking place across The Sunflower Lounge and The Victoria, this city-centre takeover celebrates the West Midlands alternative music scene in all its forms, powered by female and queer talent from across the region.
Shared Frequencies offers a full day of live music with no clashes, no compromises and a lineup that champions the artists shaping the future of the scene. Expect everything from alt-rock and punk to indie and everything in between.

Bugeye
Bugeye are a fiercely independent, queer DIY band making loud, unapologetic alt-rock with a sharp edge and something to say. Blending driving riffs, infectious hooks and a raw, rebellious energy, their sound sits somewhere between gritty indie, post-punk attitude and full-throttle garage rock. For fans of Bones UK, St Vincent, Le Tigre and Goldfrapp
Since their debut, Bugeye have built serious momentum - earning airplay on BBC6 Music, Radio 1, Radio X and BBC Introducing, while their first album landed in multiple UK "Top 50 Albums of the Year" lists. Known for their electric live shows, the band brings an intense, high-energy performance that turns every gig into a charged, inclusive space.
Now touring across the UK, Bugeye are building towards the release of their second album - louder, bolder, and ready to take things to the next level.

Crush Velvet
Selly Oak's sweethearts, 'crush velvet', are a female-fronted rock band formed at university, driven by 90s instincts, diary-page confessionals, loud guitars, and restless live energy. Their debut single 'celeste' has received BBC Radio support.

Pegging Mitchell
Pegging Mitchell are an all-female queer riot grrl band from Worcester, West Midlands, writing angry songs for she's & they's. Their songs cover all sorts of hard-hitting topics from mental health to assault, but done in an upbeat, energetic and unapologetic manner
Temper Tantrum
Temper Tantrum are a high energy, all queer, riotgrrrl band. The band's unapologetic and angry attitude is explicit in their performance, and their approach to song writing. Their shows are not to be missed, and they'll have you pulled in from the first note, 'til their last. Their gigs are protests through music, and remain a place to connect with like-minded people.
Hannah Michell
Drawing inspiration from artists like Stevie Nicks, Joni Mitchell and Brandi Carlile, Hannah Michell blends folk and blues influences with raw, intimate storytelling. Armed with just an acoustic guitar and a soulful vocal style, her writing blends stories of romance and heartbreak with reflections on the world around us and the resilience of women. A familiar face on the Birmingham live music scene, Hannah performs regularly at The Victoria alongside open mics and venues across the city.
Layla Tutt
Straight from the streets of Birmingham - brown-girl-in-the-ring underground artiste Layla Tutt reflects the sound of her city; the tension, the urgency, the demolition, the desire... Messy, elegant, shimmering - this is 90's female-focussed-fuck-off-art-rock meets late 70's swagger, angular guitar riffs and punked-up bass lines.
Since putting together a new three piece line-up in Spring 2025, Layla has opened up for LA psych/shoegaze rockers The Warlocks and black-feminist-punks Big Joanie. Hand-picked by the artist, Layla opened up for Billy Nomates ahead of the 'Metalhorse' UK album tour last September.
Nancy Davis
Birmingham-based dream folk artist Nancy Davis blends ethereal vocals with poetic, introspective lyrics.
Inspired by the likes of Mazzy Star and Lana Del Rey, her emotive songs drift between dreamscapes and the everyday.
Octavia Wakes (acoustic)
Octavia Wakes are an exciting up and coming alt-rock band from the Midlands, UK. Blending together genre influences including; rock, metal, punk and alt-rock, Octavia Wakes produce a sound unlike anyone else. Consisting of Vocalist Maia, Bassist Sam, Guitarist Tom, and Drummer Aaron they blend the hard riffs, catchy hooks and vocals to bring a fun energy to every stage.
Pollyanna Blue
Energetic and unafraid, South-West based trio Pollyanna Blue mix modern variations of alt rock, pop and grunge to create a wall of sound that can only be defined to them. Front woman Zoe provides a catchy vocal that delivers the fearlessly self expressive lyrics that narrate themes of mental health and navigating human complexity, fitting well with the origin of the band's name, which was influenced by the self help book 'Feel The Fear and Do it Anyway'
Rosie Winder
Rosie Winder is an emerging singer songwriter from Birmingham. With folk and indie roots, raw lyrics and soulful melodies, she's your girl if you've ever cried at the pub (or anywhere else). Currently recording and soon to release her debut singles, her set shouldn't be missed!
Simulation Theory
Simulation Theory are a melodic, hard rock band based out of Birmingham, England. Starting as a band in 2019, the group began playing shows in and around Birmingham in late 2022 before releasing their debut singles 'No Good Girls' in July 2024 and 'On The Run' in June 2025
