SugarFüt Presents
:

A Celebration of Grassroots Venues and Single Release Charity Event!

In collaboration with:
Polar Bear Music Club’ and ‘Independent Venue Week.

One of Hull’s most recent rising artists, SugarFüt, are hosting a single release/charity event for Polar Bear Music Club in the spirit of Independent Venue Week UK.

Hull has a rich musical history, from legends such as Mick Ronson and The Housemartins, all the way through to current rising star rapper, Chiedu Oraka, and BGT pop-star Calum Scott. All of which started by playing Hull's unique yet humble independent venues, such as; Adelphi, Polar Bear & Welly.

Hull's grassroots venues are not just here for the big names though, they're also the champions of the fledglings. It's well known in Hull that every year a festival takes place that goes by the name of Humber Street Sesh. The festival finds a lot of the talent via a weekly event held at the Polar Bear called The Sesh. Every Tuesday evening, emerging musicians of all genres get the opportunity to perform, earn some cash and play to a crowd that have free admittance to the event, all while potentially earning a spot at Humber Street Sesh. This is almost a right of passage amongst the Hull and East Yorkshire music scene, which is quickly spreading its influence across the North.

We want this event to be a celebration of these types of venues. Not just for original music, but for all forms of art. We need these venues for cover bands, open mics, and acoustic acts. For comedy, poetry, and art exhibitions. We need them as a place to discover artists for weddings, for festivals and for charity work. We need them to give us a way to express ourselves - to find out who we are!

With an age restriction of 14+, SugarFüt, alongside 4 other exciting acclaimed Yorkshire artists, Towhead, Drella, The Black Ravines and Big River Revival are determined to put on a powerful and exhilarating evening of live music, showcasing but a fraction of what Yorkshire has to offer. With every penny of profit being donated to Polar Bear Music Club, we’re hoping to keep this community alive. But to do that, we need your help to make sure the lights inside this integral institution are kept on!

Come on down to Polar Bear Music Club on Friday 31st January 2025, where for only £7 an advanced ticket, (or £10 on the door), you can contribute towards the survival of Hull’s distinctive music scene; all while having a dance, a laugh, and maybe even discovering your next favourite artist!
