Comedy Club: Lou Sanders, Eshaan Akbar, Michael Odewale & Kate Barron
A fantastic night of comedy headlined by Taskmaster winner Lou Sanders, bringing her brilliantly offbeat, no-holds-barred humour to the stage. She's joined by Eshaan Akbar, a smart, fast-rising voice seen on Mock the Week and Live at the Apollo, and Michael Odewale, one of the UK's most exciting young comedians with award-nominated Fringe shows and a sharp, modern edge.
Lou Sanders
Lou Sanders is one of Britain's most original comedians. She recently starred in the first series of Last One Laughing UK (Prime), co-hosted Mel Giedroyc's Unforgivable (Dave), and is a previous Taskmaster (Dave/C4) champion. She is a regular face on television having performed stand up on The Late Late Show with James Corden (CBS) and Live at the Apollo (BBC), with other major appearances on QI (BBC2), Travel Man: 48 Hours in... (C4), Would I Lie to You? (BBC1), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (C4) and Richard Osman's House of Games (BBC). An internationally-acclaimed stand-up comedian, Lou has toured her live shows to packed houses across the world and regularly receives rave reviews.
Eshaan Akbar
Eshaan has appeared on shows such as Sex Education, Live at the Apollo, Apprentice: You're Fired, QI, Mock the Week, (becoming the first person of Bangladeshi heritage to appear on these shows), Celebrity Mastermind, Just A Minute, The Now Show, Celebrity Masterchef, Frankie Boyle's New World Order, Comedy Central Live, The Big Asian Stand Up Night, Sunday Morning Live, Silence is Golden, A Pie and a Pint, The Last Leg, and many more.
Michael Odewale
Michael Odewale Emmy nominated & BAFTA winning Writer / Performer, Michael Odewale has fast gained recognition for his distinctive comic style. A fresh and unfiltered voice known for delivering sharp and beautifully executed content, his debut show #BlackBearsMatter won Best Show at both the 2019 Leicester Comedy Festivals and achieved critical acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe 2019, earning him a nomination for Best Newcomer in the Dave Edinburgh Comedy Awards. Michael has also worked on shows including: Dreaming Whilst Black (BBC), Cunk on Earth (BBC), Death to 2022 (Netflix) and Ben Elton's Friday Night Live (C4). His performance credits include Live at The Apollo (BBC), Friday Night Live (C4) and Live from The Moth Club (Dave). In 2025 Michael was selected for the British Comedy Guide New Big Thing Award, won Best Headliner at the Chortle Awards and was nominated for an Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Writing for a Variety Special for his work on Cunk On Life.
Kate Barron
Kate Barron is a multi award winning stand-up comedian, podcaster, and writer. Originally from Vancouver but now based in the UK, Kate is recognised as one of the comedy scene's fastest rising talents with performances at Montreal's Just For Laughs and HBO's Women in Comedy Festival in Boston. She made history by becoming the first woman to clinch victory at Toronto's notorious Comedy Brawl, triumphing over 400 fellow comedians. In 2022 her solo show Losing Myself at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival receiving official recognition from the British Comedy Guide and secured the Best Debut Show accolade from Entertainment Now. The show's success continued with a sold-out run at Soho Theatre in London and was filmed for a Next Up Comedy Special. Kate is a firm fixture at the UK's premier comedy clubs including Top Secret Comedy Club, The Comedy Store, Komedia and Frog & Bucket.
This event is part of Summer Daze Festival, a brand new four day summer festival bringing together theatre, comedy, live music and family friendly activities across Wood Wharf.
