Iconic Saharan blues legends Tamikrest, bring the powerful voice of the Kel Tamasheq people to our stage. Formed on the border of Algeria and Mali in 2006, Tamikrest quickly developed a reputation for their sharp melodies and deeply political songwriting. The award winning Chatma—dedicated to the struggles of women in the Sahara—was hailed as a major work of the Ishumar genre.
