The Kooks have just announced their European tour, with a concert scheduled for March 6, 2026, at Sagres Campo Pequeno. The band now brings their latest album, Never/know, in their own name.

After an 18-year career, The Kooks decided that the only way forward was to stop "painting over the cracks" and truly revamp the band. Upon revisiting their history-lineup changes, ego battles, and sound alterations-only the foundations and core of the project remained, which Hugh Harris describes as "a shared vision of bringing joy and love through well-played and well-written music. It's simple, almost childlike."

After this analysis of who they are and what they want to do, the solution they found was to return to the spirit of their debut album-not in sound, but in energy and atmosphere. During the creation of the seventh album, Never/Know, Luke Pritchard kept the process a secret, leading the musicians to believe they were just recording demos. This captured the band in a state of "total and absolute relaxation," as Harris describes it, with room for experimentation, fun, and a touch of disorder.

"I think we were hiding from that a little bit and making everything too easy," says Pritchard of the previous albums. "Now I feel like we've got our swagger back by letting things happen and not making everything too perfect."
