The Parlours

Perhaps britpop’s greatest boyband, perhaps a preconditioned satire of themselves, perhaps a dirge, a caricature, or the kind of stuff that wakes Alex Turner in cold sweats late at night.

 

The Parlours are a 6 piece outfit from the south coast, melding together a range of unfortunate influences (sports team, the smiths, the arctic monkeys, shame) into something rather special. With their debut EP Love Letters cementing a sound that reeks of schoolboy sarcasm yet brimming with unbridled affection, their desecration and reinvention of modern indie rock is far better seen before it is understood, or heaven forbid, believed.
