Four mates from Yorkshire, The Slates are a young, energetic indie band who are passionate about writing anthems and moving a crowd. The Slates formed in summer 2019 with front man Louis Barnes, guitarist Joe Briggs, bassist Jude Wales and drummer Zak Oldroyd. The band have succeeded to have plays on the BBC, series’ on Channel 4, multiple major festivals, Manchester Academy 1 and have played multiple times at the O2 Academy Leeds. The Slates released their debut EP ‘u wot?’, including summer anthems, ‘Hello, Don’t You Know?’ and ‘Shield Your Drink’ in the back end of 2022 as well as their 2023 hit ‘What Have You Done?’ which gained them shows in iconic venues across the nation. As well as surpassing 350,000+ streams across streaming platforms and selling out every headline show. They have also previously been named an X-posure hot one by John Kennedy. The Slates have toured at major venues with 90’s legends Embrace and have played up and down the country from London to Glasgow and are set for an exciting 2025. The Slates have just released their latest track “FIESTA”, a thumping and roaring indie-rock anthem which is set to staple their name in the British guitar music scene.
