2nd album release show
South coast alt-punk supremos, The Surge release their second album, MEOW with a launch show at Southampton's Heartbreakers on 1st August. They will be joined by very special guests including Bournemouth's all girl punk sensations, Typical girls and Southampton's own incendiary punk legends Bitter self exploitment. DJ Lyniv will be spinning vinyl magic throughout the night.

MEOW is The Surge's follow-up to acclaimed 2023 debut album, Amped. MEOW re-focuses the band signature sounds and broadens their sound scape. The 2024 lineup change added the incredible vocal talents and presence of Queenie and the lead guitar of south coast stalwart, Jon Hulland. Pete Coombs' songwriting shines bright and continues to provide a vivid canvas of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness in 2020's UK. Marcus Wright and Ade Saunders steady the ship.
MEOW was recorded in 2025/26 at Untapped Talent studio in Southampton with long term collaborator Matt O'Donnell. Additional material was recorded at Newlands studio, New forest and Crix's Crest studio, Florida, USA.
