The Zipheads & The Speedways at Bedford Esquires

The Zipheads return to Bedford with their hybrid of 50's rock'n'roll fused with 70's punk rock energy- their first appearance at Esquires since 2023!

Formed in nearby St Albans, The Zipheads have been seen on stages all over the UK, Europe and the USA, and at festivals such as Boomtown, Shambala and Glastonbury- releasing their third album Rock'n'Roll Renaissance last year to critical acclaim and a packed-out launch show at Camden Underworld.

Hailed as "London's powerpop kings" (Vive Le Rock), The Speedways have never been afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Sure, you'll hear the influence of old reliables The Ronettes, Cheap Trick and Tom Petty, but with their golden harmonies and shimmering chords, the band have gone all out to create something that pushes the boundaries of what we've come to know as powerpop.

Making their Esquires debut, The Speedways are no strangers to the UK gig-circuit, and can often be found abroad with rapturously-received tours of Spain, Germany and Sweden firmly establishing themselves as the current leaders of the European powerpop scene.
