The Ting Tings are Katie White & Jules De Martino. They were formed in 2007 at Islington Mill, an artist-led creative space in Salford, Greater Manchester.

The Ting Tings first album We Started Nothing, written by Jules and Katie and produced by Jules, quickly gained critical and commercial success, topping the UK Albums Chart and selling millions of copies worldwide. “That’s Not My Name,” the Album’s breakout single, reached #1 on the UK Singles Chart and charted internationally, catapulting the band into the mainstream. We Started Nothing was certified multi-platinum, and its singles received widespread airplay.

The album’s success led to numerous accolades. The Ting Tings were nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2010 and received the prestigious Ivor Novello Award for “Best Album” in 2009. The duo also won “Best UK Video” at the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards for “Shut Up and Let Me Go,” which featured prominently in Apple’s iPod commercials, boosting the band’s international visibility.

Further albums, including Sounds from Nowheresville (2012), Super Critical (2014) and The Black Light (2018) saw the duo continue to reinvent their sound. 2025 see the release of a new album Home, recorded in a self-built wooden decked analogue studio, it’s an easy breezy yacht rock album committed to traditional song writing inspired by their all-time favourites, Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits, The Eagles, The Carpenters, Cosby Stills & Nash, Supertramp, Christopher Cross. It’s an album that feels warm and ethereal, inviting and timeless.

A modern-day classic.
